Announcing our fantastic plenary speakers for the Insight in Fundraising Conference 2018!

Will Goodhand of System1 Research will share a current view of advertising and how the charity sector is participating. Drawing on the System1 Ad Ratings (S1AR) database containing the performance of all UK (and US) ads immediately they are aired, he discusses how our sector compares to others, snapshots key charity activity, and highlights the star performers and what we can learn from them. In a broader view looking at 5-star ads from across other business sectors, he asks what learnings can be applied for charity advertising? Will draws on personal experience working across charity, FMCG and Tech, with the aim – like all good ads – of stirring emotion and positive action.

We also have Martin Bysh – President & CTO at Maru/Userv. Martin’s session: ‘Donor pain points & how to improve your conversion rates’ will talk through how Fundraisers often have pre-concieved ideas about what donors want from Online Fundraising messaging and branding. When surveyed, 1000 donors were asked about their experiences and expectations of online fundraising, concentrating particularly on issues of transparency, communication, consistency of experience and data usage. Martin will walk you through this data and some of the conclusions and action points that were derived from it.
