Within Private Sector and Partnership (PSP), the Data Analysis Team sits in the Strategy and Marketing Section and provides strategic and technical support to embed IG excellence in national & regional IG programmes and ensure that PSP achieves high IG revenue growth in the coming years at an optimal level of performance. The Associate PSP Officer (Analysis & Research) will operate in a context where the Data Analysis Team is developing a number of key projects aiming at improving PSP level of insight into fundraising performance and identifying fundraising opportunities to build stronger PSP IG operations.

From a technical point of view, the success of projects in which the Associate PSP Officer (Analysis & Research) will be involved in, will highly depend on the quality of the data feeding into the analysis, the improvement of systems and processes in place to transform raw data into fundraising information, and the team¿s capacity to formulate and disseminate actionable findings at global and national levels.

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT.

Accountability (key results that will be achieved)

- PSP level of insight into fundraising performance is improved thus better fundraising opportunities identified.

- Accuracy of PSP data collected and analysed is ensured and data quality, systems and processes improved.

Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)

- Contribute to development of methodologies for using data analytics tools; creation and management of standard reporting, visualizations, dashboards to illustrate findings. Create and maintain data and system documentation as needed.

- Integrate multiple systems, data sets and perform statistical analysis to provide new insights. Proactively identify opportunities for process and reporting efficiencies. Create and modify reports using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL and other data aggregating tools.

- Support LTV analysis project, with a focus on data consistency across markets and being responsible for the data supply and validation process. Co-ordinate the UNHCR data analyst network to ensure data insights are shared, and that best practice data management and analysis is implemented.

- Contribute to inter-agency benchmarking projects (i.e. Peer Review) and dissemination of key findings.

- Decide on the collection of data to monitor performance of fundraising programs and techniques.

- Decide on tools and processes relevant to collect and manage data in a secured and efficient manner.

- Decide on the presentation and dissemination of analysis conducted.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. 

- Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a BA/BS) plus at least 3 years previous relevant work experience involving extensive use of database systems. Graduate degree (equivalent of a Masters) plus 2 years or Doctorate degree (equivalent of a PhD) plus 1 year of previous relevant work experience may also be accepted.

- In-depth knowledge and proven experience in fundraising analysis and performance evaluation at operational and management levels used to drive marketing annual and long term strategy and investments is required.

- Proven track records in developing and implementing database-driven analysis systems with experience in integrating multiple data sources and database query.

- Very good knowledge of quantitative data analysis software (Excel proficiency required; Microsoft SQL, Visual Basic, R or Python); and common BI and visualisations tools (FastStats, Power BI).

- Experience in an international non-profit organization or global company developing business on multiple markets, and involvement in benchmarking across products and markets.

- Excellent knowledge of English.

 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES. 

- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and strong communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).

- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and experience with Sales Force NPSP in terms of data extraction and integration with other database systems.

- In-depth understanding and intuition of the strategic implications of fundraising metrics and data.
