About this opportunity:


The role consists of three key elements: communications planning, the building of high quality supporter journeys, and testing and analysis of our supporter engagement. You will ensure that our supporters receive the right message, at the right time, and in the right format, in relation to where our supporters are in their ‘journey’ with Greenpeace, and in line with our organisational, audience, and channel strategies. 


You will work with colleagues to oversee a cross organisational view of supporter communications across our campaigning, volunteering and fundraising activities, facilitating the planning process to ensure that supporters receive the right volume of content according to their preferences and organisational needs. You will play a pivotal role in integrating communication and engagement plans between key departments, particularly fundraising and digital mobilisation. 


You will help us become more supporter focused by testing segmentation approaches and working across teams to plan, implement and evaluate multi-channel journeys for priority audiences to deliver cross-organisational objectives. You will carry out analysis of supporter behaviour, producing recommendations to teams producing communications to increase their impact and relevance. You will also lead the communications testing process, ensuring that ongoing improvements to supporter communications occur as a result. 



You will have strong experience around communications planning, with a particular focus on email and social marketing. You will be able to implement organisational strategy around communications, ensuring that both individual communications and the overall balance of supporter engagement aligns with our Email and Social Strategies. You will be experienced in designing, testing and implementing supporter journeys, with an awareness and understanding of industry research and best practices for this area.


Since different teams and departments are involved in the process of generating and sending content, you will be adept at influencing and collaborating with cross departmental teams and able to get on with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and to effectively manage these relationships through strong communication skills. Previous experience of fundraising or direct marketing campaigns would be an advantage.


You will also be comfortable producing a wide range of analysis, including on communications and audience profiling and user segmentation, and experienced in carrying out systematic testing and optimisation on communications. You will need to use your strong communications skills to ensure full understanding of colleagues’ needs through a requirements gathering and briefing process, getting ‘under the skin’ of requests to find out what teams really need and can make happen, and presenting findings back in an engaging and inspiring manner.
