ActionAid is an international development charity dedicated to ending the extreme poverty that kills 28 children every minute of every day.
The Data and Insight team is responsible for maintaining and improving ActionAid’s supporter information. It provides analysis, insight and research to help the organisation better understand our supporters. The Data Manager is responsible for the health of ActionAid’s supporter data; helping to make sure that the 2 supporter databases remain ‘fit for purpose’ and that the integrity of supporter data is maintained and enhanced.
Key responsibilities: Providing expertise in the data structures of both databases in order to advise on how supporter data is held; Managing the quality of supporter data through the implementation of a clear strategy of cleaning, de-duping and enhancement; Providing database support and training to improve users’ understanding of supporter data.
Essential skills/experience:
- Experience of complex data management, ideally in fundraising
- Experience of working with Raiser’s Edge in an administrative capacity (imports, exports, querying and reporting, security)
- Understanding of relational databases
- Knowledge of fundraising data and strong awareness of fundraising disciplines.
- Working knowledge of MS Access, Excel and SQL
- Experience of providing user support
- Excellent co-ordination and organisational skills
- Understanding of processes to clean and enhance data
